5 Questions Answered About Quick Base From A Ninja | VeilSun

You won’t find bigger Quick Base evangelists than the team at VeilSun. But we’re definitely not alone. In an effort to highlight a few of our colleagues who feel just as much love for Quick Base, we wanted to share a recent Q&A session we had with our friends at CCI. More specifically, we wanted to pick their brains about an innovative initiative they’ve instituted called the Ninja Program.

As a bit of background, CCI won the Catalyst Award at the 2017 Empower Conference, given to “the organization that creates a culture in which motivated people aredownload empowered people. These organizations smash the limitations of “who” and “how” with the power of “wherever” and “whenever.” No wonder we’re such big fans. We not only love what they do, but how they do it.

Alright, on to the Q&A…

Q: How long have you been using Quick Base? How many apps do you have?
A: We’ve been avid users of Quick Base for more than two and a half years. Currently, we have more than 25 apps in our repertoire.

Q: What do you find fun about Quick Base?
A: Improved productivity is everyone’s goal. That’s why we love to provide solutions that make users happier in what they’re doing while enabling them to accomplish even more. They’re going to come up with their own ideas on how to get data more visible and more usable.

Q: What’s your Ninja program, how does it work and what are some of the benefits?
A: Great question! Our Ninja program is designed to help citizen developers learn the basics, grow their skill sets and empower them to thrive.

The entire process is very hands on. From building an app together from specific requirements to completing homework before meetings, they experience the shared responsibility of building. And, much as they will in the real world, their apps even go through a stringent review process: table architecture and relationships have to be approved before their app gets put into Quick Base to begin. From there, they have free rein to build. It then goes through a technical review and they have to make sure there’s a user guide. We’re making sure they’re always looking for continuous improvement in their end product.

In order to graduate to “ninja” status, each developer has to hit three milestones:

  1. Build an app from scratch.
  2. Maintain an app.
  3. Get at least a 90% on a 40-question quiz that covers the entire lifecycle of building an app.

In the end, the program helps them fully understand IT’s responsibility in knowing everything they need to do to ensure their apps work.

Q: Have you seen tangible returns from the program?
A: Even though a lot of things aren’t measurable, absolutely. Our ninja program saves people time in their processes and helps them learn to work more efficiently. And because we provide better access to data, we help companies set new standards for themselves with Quick Base, primarily because they’ve never had that kind of access and visibility into their data before.

Overall, it helps everyone be more mindful of key indicators.

Q: To what do you attribute your success?
A: At our core, I think we’re truly a service department. Practically, we help our clients utilize, store, and retrieve their data. But on a much deeper level, we strive to serve based on CCI’s corporate values. Concepts like tell the truth and be passionate about what you’re doing drive us to always seek new ways to make Quick Base do more.

Thanks for the chat, CCI! We look forward to seeing the new ways you’ll bring Quick Base to life in the future. Stay tuned for more interviews like this one. And please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or want to know more about how we can make Quick Base help you work more efficiently.
